Spoon has been closely watching the evolution of the Integra for over 15 years, and during this time it has evolved into an extremely well balanced car. Focusing in on this balance, Spoon set out to create a tuned car that can handle both city driving and winding roads, as well as all out runs on a racing circuit. The Spoon Integra Type R is the result.
For the base engine, they made efforts to improve durability by reinforcing the cooling system and preventing sloshing of oil to one side of the engine during extreme driving conditions. The exhaust manifold and muffler has been replaced to further enhance engine performance.
A custom suspension kit was incorporated, increasing the spring rate but set so that the dampers exhibit an elastic stroke characteristic, keeping the tyres well planted on the road under any condition. The goal was to provide a suspension system from which even beginner drivers can feel the traction of the tyres. This helps to make driving both more fun, and safer.
The brakes are given aluminum 4-pot calipers in the front to give it a solid braking feel. Not only does it improve the braking force, it makes it easier to control in a variety of conditions, such as when changing directions.
Equipped with a strut tower bar, lower arm bars, and various reinforced bushings, rigidity has been perfected, and combined with an original LSD, the car shows extremely high traction characteristics. And best of all, even with all this it is still comfortable enough to take your date out for a drive.
